Kitchen to garden program

Nundle Public School is one of the 744 school involved in the Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program since 2010.

The philosophy behind this program is designed to expose students to flavours and health benefits of fresh and seasonal foods. Students at Nundle Public School plant, grow and harvest foods from their very own organic veggie patch. With staff assistance, the students will prepare meals from the produce and hence experiencing healthy and delicious dishes which reflect the vegetable, herbs and fruits grown season to season.

The Program integrates every aspect of the primary school curriculum including numeracy, literacy, cultural studies and environmental sustainability. It also offers social benefits to all students including those with special needs.
